More from The Hero Within
David’s body began to spasm. The pain he felt after supporting the jack four years ago struck him with an intensity that matched its speed. The pain made him release a deafening scream of agony. He fell to his knees and slouched over on to his side. His eyes were as dark as the deepest part of the ocean; he stared straight ahead as life escaped him.
The sounds of a bleeding radiator’s hiss and the ticking of a cooling exhaust rattled around David’s mind. The world was spinning, a bright darkness started to creep.
The boundaries of his sight pulsated with aurora. With every contraction of his heart, so too did his vision fade.
